in highway vans with convivial companions to remote reservation
locations in New Mexico and Arizona.

major Native American artists in pottery, jewelry and weaving.
- Stay
each night in comfortable inns we have come to know over the
years.

this year's schedule is not yet determined, seminar participants
will spend time with noted artists such as:
Potters: Dextra Quotskuyva, Hisi Nampeyo, Steve Lucas,
Dolores Curran, Geri Naranjo
Jewelers: Perry Shorty, Norbert Peshlakai, Verma Nequatewa
(Sonwai), Gail Bird, Terry and Joe Reano, Richard Chavez
Basket weaver: Pauline Secakuku
Katsina Carvers: Brian and Ron Honyouti.

art and archaeology scholars will brief participants at intervals
throughout the trip. In the past, these have included:
Dr. J. J. Brody - Professor Emeritus the University
Of New Mexico, renowned art historian, archaeologist, author
of Pueblo Indian Painting, Tradition and Modernism in New
Mexico, 1900 -1930, and many other volumes on Indian art.
Jonathan Batkin - Director of the Wheelwright Museum
in Santa Fe, author of Pottery of the Pueblos of New Mexico,
1700 - 1940.
Terry DeWald - noted expert in basketry and textiles
of the Southwest, author of Papago Indians and Their Basketry.
Bill Malone - leading trader to the Navajo people for
over 35 years, with extensive knowledge of regional Navajo
rugs (and trader at Hubbell's Trading Post).
