Martha Struever and Dextra Quotskuyva at Hopi Pueblo

For more than thirty years, Martha Struever has been an active dealer and specialist in American Indian Art. In the 1970’s and early 1980’s, she operated The Indian Tree Gallery in Chicago, where she organized special exhibitions of the work of Dextra Quotskuyva, Charles Loloma, Maria Martinez, Helen Hardin and others. Ms. Struever has frequently served as judge for pottery at the juried Santa Fe Indian Market and has written for Indian Artist magazine.

She is presently a full-time private art dealer based in Santa Fe.

Martha guest-curated Painted Perfection: The Pottery of Dextra Quotskuyva, a major retrospective on the work of noted Tewa/Hopi potter, Dextra Quotskuyva, at the Wheelwright Museum in Santa Fe, which ran from May to October, 2001.
